Why Green Capacity

It is with great pleasure that we can now announce that we have another pilot city within our Green Capacity Campaign. The new official partner city is Krasnodar!
Krasnodar is located on the Kuban River about 148 kilometers northeast of the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk. The city is the administrative center of Krasnodar Krai.
It is the economic center of southern Russia which among other things is shown by its turnover, which is the largest in the Southern Federal District.
The territory is involved in investment cooperation with more than 60 countries, and 773 companies with foreign capital are registered here.
Krasnodar is looking forward to learn about the Danish experience in the area of energy saving and energy efficiency among other things within technology improvements, as well as we are very much looking forward to future cooperation and are delighted to welcome Krasnodar on board.

During the past 35 years, Denmark has developed to become one of the world’s most energy efficient countries. Among other things Denmark has developed an appreciated district heating system and know-how known all over the world.
District heating cannot solve all climate and environmental challenges of a modern society. But no modern society can handle these challenges without including district heating as an integrated part of the infrastructure.
Russia is now aware of that and ready to implement some of the Danish technologies and methods to become more energy efficient.

Since 1946 the 9th May has been celebrated as a victory day. The day marks the capitulation of Nazi Germany to the Soviet Union in the Second World War.
Again this year the 9th May was a huge celebration day and it was, among other things, marked with a military parade, veteran’s parade and fireworks.
This year in Sankt Petersburg the celebration started in the Morning with the yearly military parade at the Hermitage. This parade included lots of soldiers and tanks and was a really good experience!
The veterans were sitting at the front row of the stand and after the parade they received a lot of honour, glory and of course flowers.
The honour of the veterans continued at the veteran’s parade along Nevski Prospect in the afternoon.
The day/evening ended with fireworks from the Peter and Paul Fortress.
During the whole day you could really feel that the Russians were happy, smiling and celebrating, and that it still is a very important day!
